   If you wish to go to Chiayi Railway Station from THSR Chiayi Station, we suggest you take Chiayi City Bus which services the route. The route map is available here: http://yoyonet.biz/egoing/bus/wunchanan/chaea/brt-2.htm. The time of travel is roughly 30-45 minutes on the bus. For detailed information, please contact Chiayi City Bus directly at 05-275-0895. If you are visiting the Alishan National Park, you'll need to purchase tickets from the Chiayi Railway Station. The one-way fare is about NT399 and the trip will take about 3.5 hours. Currently there are two trains heading up the Alishan National Park per day, one at 9am and one at 1:30pm. Starting April 15th, only the afternoon train will be in service (except on weekends, both trains will be available). Advance booking of train tickets: Chiayi-Alishan line tickets can be booked 1 month ahead @ Beimen Station 北門車站. You can either call (05)2768094 or go in person to book. Ticketing Hours from 8am-4pm

Deposit for advance bookings: 10% ticket fare as deposit. After registration & notification for payment of deposit, you have 1 week to pay/post the deposit to the station. If you have not, your tickets & deposit will be considered forfeit. For tickets purchased within 1 week from departure, you have to pay the deposit 3 days before departure date.

Returning/refund of tickets: You can do so 30mins before train departure. Approach the Stationmaster for official confirmation. Processing fee for return of unused tickets is 10% of train fare. Refunds will not be entertained if you missed the 30min mark. The 10% train fare deposit will be treated as processing fees for those who missed the Collection time of Tickets.
